I know I’m ready to start painting with my watercolours when inspired by a subject that gives me a buzz. To me, it is all about freedom, spontaneity & experimenting with colour and new techniques, portraying them through the natural world, land & seascapes, animals & occasionally semi-abstract. Ranging from ethereal to bold in their interpretation, however my emotions take me.
My training as a furniture designer & maker at the London College of Furniture gave me skills & experience to go on to teach Design & Technology within Buckinghamshire.
In retirement my late husband and I sailed and painted around the Mediterranean, being inspired by architecture, boats & harbour scenes. Selling our painting as they were being finished en plein air, along with commissions as we wintered in various places; France, Spain, Italy Turkey & many Greek islands. An extraordinary plethora of historical & aesthetic images and scenes to inspire us.
