Karina Thomas MA(RCA) and Lisa Vaughan MA(RCA) @blackswansstudios.
Karina and Lisa met whilst studying textiles at The Royal College of Art. They both have successful individual careers in knitted and embroidered textiles for interiors. Karina has worked with Tom Dixon, Clementine Blakemore architects and the British Embassy. Lisa has worked with Designers Guild, Barneys NY and independent stores and galleries in the UK, USA and Japan. Both of them have also lectured at colleges around the UK. They are now combining their skills to produce artworks as inspiration for their courses in weave, stich and knit. Come and visit our working textile studio, full of colourful fabrics and yarns ready to inspire ideas and experiment with new techniques. At weekends we will have a café in the courtyard to welcome you with tea and cake while watching a demonstration on our courses which will run from spring to autumn 2023.
